Hello to any of my friends checking out this site. I have been silent for a while, and it has been an eventful 2026. My favorite time as a teacher, without a doubt, was December. Preparing to share a stage with student musicians during the holidays is special. Being a musician in December is transcendent. If you are playing this month, enjoy it all. Enjoy a candy cane for me, even the crazy flavored ones. I miss it all. Snow days are pretty great, but not in December so much. Too much to do!

Our cat Kiki loves to sit under her shrine in our house. We love this little creature. I tried to get her to look at me like the picture in the frame but could only catch her in a yawn. She makes my days better.

I hope everyone is well to start this week. A former student teacher of mine reached out to me about doing some work with his orchestra program at Stivers School for the Performing Arts on a part time basis. I will be there with their orchestras starting tomorrow. This is certainly nothing like what I enjoyed for decades as a full-time teacher, but it will be great to support my friend and his orchestra program, and I can’t wait to get started.
